Social Program funding announcement

To Our Neighbors:

Spring is rapidly approaching and with that comes the first community activities that so many look forward to.As you know, we recently removed funding of our social program from the HOA budget.  Overall, our community strongly believes in the value and quality of life that a social program provides and we (the Montare Board) would like to help support these efforts.  In keeping with the feedback that many of you took to time to provide, we are trying an alternative method of funding the social program for 2008.

To gain a degree of certainty on how much money the Social Committee will have to work with, we are asking each household that plans to participate in our social events, to contribute $25 now.  Managed in an account independent of the HOA financials, this modest amount will provide working capital for our events and pre-pay your family to attend all three events.  The scheduled events are the Easter Egg Hunt, the Summer Picnic and the Halloween Parade.

This method, will allow the volunteer Social Committee to plan and budget for the year, without having to volunteer additional time collecting money for each event and avoid being left with a portion of the financial burden themselves.  Any funds not spent this year will be carried over to next year.

If this idea appeals to you, please mail a check for $25, made out to “Montare Social Committee”, to our PO Box. Easter is early this year, so mailing a check as soon as possible would be most appreciated!

Nice work on the Montare site! Thanks to those of you who spent the time to create this site. I think it will be a great communication vehicle for the community.
